The celebrity.....(insert whatever)

Damn, I just clicked on a link because of the "healthy title" of it: "Inside Nutritionist Kimberly Snyder's Fridge"

This is a nobody to me, because I don´t recognize her name at all but that´s fine, she is a nutritionist and that´s what was interesting to me Smile And the first sentence when the video plays is: "I´m a celebrity nutritionist bla bla bla.....". Dude, really...I don´t care that you are celebrity something...it´s cheesy, all these celebrity cook, personal trainers bla bla, come on brand yourself for who you are and what you can offer. This is just shallow, I personally don´t get struck by if someone is "celebrity "something"". It doesn´t really tell me that you are a big deal. Plus who is celebrity to them anyway? It can be anyone who has been in any TV show once, right? Why does it mean that you are good because you are "celebrity.....something". Dude, please...give me a break, give me "something special" Tounge

The Calendar power

I recently bought myself a calendar where you can write your to-do list for the day. For the past years I have used a free one, the University of Iceland provided them for free for its students. Since I moved to Denmark I haven´t had one on paper, but always used the calendar on my phone to schedule and organize things I need to do. But since Im a full time master student I decided it´s best to buy one paper calendar, not too big so I can always carry it around Smile Looking through the pages it got me thinking...why do the weekend days have smaller empty lines than weekdays?

Yes I know the obvious answer is because they are free days, time for relaxation and chill out, or partying. But I´m wondering, ok if you are a full time worker, wouldn´t you actually use the free days to express and enjoy yourself and make the most of your time away from work/school duties? You don´t have to go small, go big, do something big, overfill the few empty lines in those calendars Tounge

Another thing connected to this "weekend" discussion...people often ask "What are you doing?" and let´s say it is Friday or Saturday. And I´m not doing anything special but chilling, because I don´t feel like it or don´t have the energy at the moment. Then starts the convincing " Oh come ooooon, it´s Friday/Saturday!". I´m thinking ok, but why do I have to obey these dogmas that it is weekend and therefore I need to be partying?! Why does it all have to be according to the "weekend rules"? I want us to be able to party or enjoy friends company in a party environment whenever we feel like it, even though it´s Monday evening, or Wednesday. It is way too structured and impersonal. It´s weekend guys! You have to obey the "weekend rules " and do what you are supposed to do on weekends! Blah...W00t

You deserve it soooo.....!

Hi ya´ll near and far!

This is a completely Icelandic saying "near and far" hehe it´s just so well rhymed in Icelandic "nær og fjær" Smile Well yeah Iceland and typical Icelandic sayings...of course. One of those so typical sayings that I see lately ALOT is...when a couple has just started dating and they both look so happy and jolly on the Facebook pictures (´cuz let´s face it nowadays Facebook is the daily most updated and free media between friends and acquaintances) which is of course completely expectable in the beginning of most relationships, then the comments I usually see are as „Awww you are both so cute and sweet! Ohh you deserve it so! (addressed to the girl usually). Also comments like „OMG you are so beautiful, you deserve it! I wish you all the best!!“. So this „oh you so deserve it thing“ has got me thinking...because I see it so often! I mean what does it mean „you deserve it“? And why do you deserve and who actually doesn´t deserve it? Or do you deserve it because it just finally happened that you met someone you like? Don´t we like all deserve it? Woundering Come on...or is this already a common saying „you deserve it“, just to say something. Is that the new way of saying kind of „Congratulations“? I´m wondering... I really don´t know what it means? Or it could also sound like pitying “you deserve it” as in: “oh finally you found someone…God, you´ve been looking forever! Finally! Poor you! You deserve it!” hahahahahaGrin Geez I´d really like to hear your opinions on that!

Date on the sofa

Yeah about those...I don´t get the point of meeting someone new and have a video night together. Is that a date? I don´t see it as oneFootinMouth  If you don´t really know the person, would you be able to enjoy the silence of each other together? I think people have to be really comfortable with one another so they could enjoy being together in front of the tv. Am I being too deep? No, I mean watching video together is cozy and cuddly, what if you don´t know each other so well? You just gonna sit there and share pop and candy? Hahah GrinWell it´s not soo weird, I mean I have done it. But I have met the guy for dinner and a night out first, so I mean we knew something about each other, not straight "meet you by the sofa " date hehe HappyI just mean that it might be weird to do so. No? Yes? Anyone?

European

I often hear talking about "Eastern Europe", this name has followed those countries in the Eastern part of Europe since the communism qonquered there. So people from there are Easter Europeans, kind of different Europeans? You rarely hear Southern Europe or Western Europe, nope, those countries have names, they are Italy, Spain, France, UK, Germany, but the countries in Eastern Europe are just called "Eastern Europe" no matter which country from that part of Europe is. They are all just classified as that. I think that´s kind of unfair. If you are Serbian, Russian or Romanian, you just wanna be viewed as Serbian, Russian or Romanian, not just as "Eastern European". Well that´s just my opinion, but think about it, am I not right? Woundering

My name is whuuuut?

Yeah, I was thinking of name choices the other day...so your parents have that enormous power to give you a name which lasts forever! Whether you like it or not, you have got to go with it. Many people change it though, because of the fact that they dislike their name or just so it sounds better in the show business. Examples are Jordan (sexy bombshell from UK, real name:Katie Price), then Carmen Electra (real name:Tara Leigh Patrick), then Pamela Anderson (real name:Barbara Rose Kopetski). Hihihi what does that tell me? The names that they use nowadays sound good for sure, but that makes me realize how much a name matters. You are kind of obliged to like your name ´cuz when you are a kid, you have no power to do anything about it whatsoever Woundering  I think we should be the ones choosing our own name, no? I mean it is a part of our life which we should be able to have control over. What do ya´ll think? Tounge

The power of mind

Wow it is amazing...the power of your mind Gasp Early this morning on my way to work I was driving and thiking of school and what I had to do in my school matters. As I drive the same way to work and school I suddenly caught myself turning in the school direction. I saw alot of ducks there eating gras and Im like "oooops!why so many ducks, I´m not on the right location!" W00t Wow...I mean I don´t even recall sending a signal to my brain that I need to go turn there, I just did haha! Then I was thinking...wow imagine the poeple who cannot control their actions, they are not really aware of it, it is just what their mind does, it moves their body parts and controls their actions. It´s all in your mind... Gasp
